“I’m an emerging artist all over again. But I’m no YBA, I’m an EVOBA – an Emerging Very Old British Artist!”
So said Vaughan Grylls in Time Out earlier this year, just before a show of his latest work opened at Sadler’s Wells. That well-received exhibition was the first major opportunity to see a new Vaughan Grylls since the 1980s when one national broadsheet had described a Vaughan Grylls as news-story, location and news-gathering combined. But then this artist withdrew from showing his work publicly – that is until this year.
